Disaster Relief - Huffman, Texas

Three Rivers Baptist Association Disaster Relief volunteers took two units to Huffman, Texas to serve victims of Hurricane Beryl. The area was devastated by wind damage and flooding.

Six trained Disaster Relief (DR) volunteers drove the 15+ hour trip carrying both our chainsaw unit and our heavy equipment unit. TRBA is proud to have the only heavy equipment unit in the SC Baptist DR network. Volunteers worked for 6 days clearing and cutting up trees as well as removing them from people’s property.

Below are some of the trip statistics:

  • 2107 miles driven

  • 13 chainsaw jobs completed

  • 2 debris removal jobs completed

  • 258 manhours of work

  • 37 hours of heavy equipment work

  • Several gospel presentations

Most importantly, they used every opportunity they had to share the gospel with the people they were serving. Work like this is made possible through faithful giving to TRBA and through volunteers in association churches being trained and ready to serve when needs arise.
