TRBA Disaster Relief Efforts for Flood Victims of South Carolina

Rev. Bennie Durham, pastor of Marietta First Baptist Church and TRBA Disaster Relief Coordinator has had teams serving in Sumter, SC by operating our Shower and Laundry Units.

As of Oct. 22, 2015 SBDR volunteers from 15 states have been engaged in ministry in four primary areas of the state.  A total of 493 homes have been assessed for recovery, mud-out or rebuild. To date, 577 homeowner assistance tasks have been completed, which include everything from minor cleanup to more extensive projects. Nearly 70,000 meals have been prepared in the response.

The first Sunday of each November has been designated on the Southern Baptist Convention calendar as a special day to recognize and raise awareness
of Disaster Relief ministries.

For suggestions on how your church can observe DR Appreciation Day, visit www.scbaptist.org/dr. We encourage volunteers to wear your Disaster Relief shirts.
